Job summary

Intertek in San Antonio, Texas is seeking an Entry-Level Field Technician I to join our Professional Services Industries team. You will perform testing and site observations under supervision, assisting with soil and concrete testing and reporting results.

You will use drawings and specifications, document results, and work outdoors under varying weather conditions. The role may require overtime or night hours; Intertek offers medical, dental, vision, life, 401(k) with match, PTO, and tuition

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
• Able to lift, move, push and pull 30–50 pounds frequently; over 50 pounds with assistance.
• Works outdoors in adverse weather conditions; occasional climbs to various heights.
• Willing to work overnight hours and off shift as needed.

The Field Technician is responsible for performing a variety of testing, project specific observations and site assessment duties under general supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures.

• Use specific methods and perform tasks to make detailed observations of site activities and give limited interpretation of results

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record
• Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed
• Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance
• Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound
• Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures
• Ability to climb occasional, and work at various heights
• Ability to work over night hours and off shift

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 6 months of experience in construction materials / density testing
• ACI Certification
