GeoTek is a full‑service consulting engineering firm that specializes in geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, special inspections, and environmental consulting. We are seeking an Entry Level Construction Field Technician for our Albuquerque, NM office.

Role Overview

As an entry level or experienced field technician you will perform field testing in the construction industry. You must have a vehicle (truck, van, SUV, or similar) to transport wheelbarrow and equipment. We pay vehicle and gas reimbursements. Pay ranges from $20 to $30 USD, commensurate with certifications and experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of testing, project specific observations, and site assessment duties.
• Operate equipment, conduct tests/assessments, and report data, using drawings, specifications, diagrams, schematics and instructions.
• Use specific methods to observe site activities, take samples, and perform tests, making minor adjustments and modifications as needed.
• Communicate effectively with Supervisor and Dispatch to obtain daily work assignments.
• Prepare daily and data reports of testing and inspections, and submit company documents related to projects.
• Prepare and submit your own timesheet for approval daily.
• Obtain proper field authorizations signed by the client when required or when work beyond the original scope is requested.
• Advise Supervisor or Project Manager of any changes in work scope or potential budget overruns.
• Maintain positive business relationships with clients, contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, etc.

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to accomplish tasks under adverse weather and/or site conditions.
• May be required to work in confined spaces and climb and work at above-average heights.
• Good or corrected vision and manual dexterity.
