Balfour Beatty is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join our Charlotte team within the Carolinas Division. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, organized professional eager to grow their career in field leadership.

This entry-level management role supports daily site operations, safety oversight, and quality control activities under the supervision of the Superintendent. The position offers hands-on experience in coordinating subcontractors, enforcing safety programs, and facilitating

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 4–6 years of field construction experience, preferably in commercial projects.
• OSHA 10 certification (OSHA 30 preferred).
• Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and quality control.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate subcontractor work to maintain schedule, quality, and safety.
• Lead weekly safety meetings and ensure OSHA compliance on site.
• Support pull planning, CPM meetings, and look-ahead scheduling.
• Assist in site startup activities including mobilization and traffic plans.
• Verify work meets specs, document inspections in BIM 360, and manage QC.
• Guide subcontractors, review daily reports, and support logistics.
• Assist in testing, commissioning, and turnover activities.
• Collaborate with Superintendent to sustain project momentum.
