Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, or public administration, or related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Entry-level to two years of experience supporting financial analysis, accounting, budget execution, financial reporting, grants, procurement, or administrative financial operations.
Basic understanding of financial transactions, accounting classifications, funding documentation, account reconciliation, invoice tracking, and budget execution.
Ability to review financial documents for proper classification, authorization, funding citations, accuracy, and supporting documentation.
Experience entering, validating, maintaining, or reviewing data within financial-management systems or comparable business platforms.
Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors, discrepancies, missing documentation, and unusual transactions.
Ability to prepare routine reports, account summaries, status updates, and financial documentation.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
U.S. citizenship may be required depending on client or contract requirements.
Ability to pass background checks, suitability requirements, or security clearance requirements, as required by the client or contract.

Responsibilities

Examine financial documents to verify proper accounting classification, authorization, funding citations, and supporting documentation.
Enter, process, validate, and maintain financial transactions within applicable financial-management systems.
Support the use of FBMS or comparable integrated federal financial systems used for accounting, budget execution, acquisition, financial assistance, and enterprise reporting.
Perform routine account reconciliations and compare financial transactions across source documentation and financial-system reports.
Assist with reconciliation between general ledger and subsidiary account balances and research differences requiring correction or additional review.
Monitor commitments, obligations, expenditures, disbursements, available balances, and status of funds.
Compile and summarize budget estimates, historical spending information, financial transactions, and other quantitative financial data.
Prepare routine financial-management reports, budget-execution reports, account analyses, and financial-status reports.
Support monthly, quarterly, year-end, and other recurring financial-reporting requirements.
Analyze financial and statistical data to identify errors, unusual transactions, discrepancies, missing documentation, and emerging spending trends.
Research financial transactions and assist with resolving accounting and budgetary discrepancies.
