Job summary

Ideum in Corrales, New Mexico seeks an entry-level Exhibit Fabricator I to help build and install custom exhibits. The role emphasizes detail-oriented craft in a dynamic, bespoke environment, including collaborations with multiple internal teams and occasional travel to client sites.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years shop experience, woodworking skills, and a portfolio showing personal design work. The position reports to the Director of Fabrication and requires strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

1-year minimum general shop experience.
2 years of experience with woodworking.
Ability to see a project through from concept to completion.
Demonstrated ability to work in the field and complete exhibit & product installations.
Experience designing and building personal designs (portfolio preferred).
Ability to use a variety of shop tools.
Detail-oriented.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to contribute to documentation and other written materials.
Highly motivated and self-directed.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Strong organizational skills.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Ability and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

Build and install custom exhibits and installations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (AV, Hardware Workshop, Creative Services).
Travel to client sites for installations; ~10% of time.
Report to the Director of Fabrication and coordinate with Lead Exhibit Fabricator.
Assist in constructing exhibit components and cabinet bases when not traveling.
