Job summary

City of Port Arthur Texas is seeking an Equipment Operator I (Parks & Recreation) to perform a variety of maintenance tasks using trucks, mowers, and related equipment. This entry-level role requires one year of experience and a valid Texas CDL; training is provided under supervision.

You will work across city facilities and parks, assist with concrete, cleanup, and routine repairs, and help ensure safe, efficient operations for public works projects. This is a full-time, on-site position.

Qualifications

• One year of maintenance experience involving operation of construction/maintenance equipment.
• Must have completed the twelfth grade and have a high school diploma or GED.
• Possession of a Texas Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of equipment including trucks, pumps, weed eaters, and other machinery.
• Identify equipment needs for assigned sites or routes.
• Assist with maintenance tasks and safety at the worksite.
• Complete daily schedules and timesheets; report work performed.
