Job summary

Brown and Caldwell is seeking an Environmental Engineer at the Treatability Lab – Entry Level in Nashville. The role supports the laboratory team, performing routine testing, method development, environmental sample analysis and treatability studies under close supervision.

You will assist with proposals, health and safety forms, data interpretation, and pilot study support, collaborating with engineers and project teams. Some weekend work may be required to support study needs.

Qualifications

• Familiar with laboratory analytical testing
• Foundational knowledge of analytical methods
• Understanding of water and wastewater treatment principles
• Ability to follow health, safety and QA/QC standards
• Basic knowledge of treatability testing
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Ability to manage multiple tasks

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine laboratory analytical and treatability testing per SOPs.
• Prepare technical documents like test plans and design reports.
• Perform basic environmental sample analysis using instrumentation.
• Maintain QA/QC standards and safety.
• Assist in coordinating small projects and pilot studies.
• Collaborate with project teams across disciplines.
• Support vendor interactions for treatment technologies.
• Participate in client calls and translate feedback into study adjustments.
