Job summary

Langan is seeking an entry-level Environmental Engineer to join its collaborative team in Chicago, IL. This role involves predominantly field work with occasional time in the office and support on both small- and large-scale environmental land development projects.

You will have opportunities to partner across disciplines in a continuous learning environment, gaining hands-on experience and developing technical and professional skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering (required).
  • 0-2 years of related work experience preferred.
  • EIT certification or FE exam registration preferred.
  • Prior internship or relevant work experience preferred.
  • Strong technical education and professional demeanor; willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and execution of field investigations (borings, samples, field tests, data collection).
  • Monitor construction projects, perform tests to verify compliance with specs.
  • Identify and solve field/lab problems and document results.
  • Prepare reports and logs (drilling logs, field investigation dailies, chain of custody).
  • Learn data management and modeling tools for environmental media and analyses.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Job Summary

Langan is seeking an entry-levelEnvironmental Engineer to join its collaborative team inChicago, IL. This individual will spend a majority of the time in the field with occasional time in the office and will serve a key function in working on small-scale and large-scale environmental land development projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to partner across disciplinesin a continuous learning environment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assistwith the planning and execution of field investigations by logging borings, collecting samples, performing field tests and collecting and recording data;
  • Monitorconstruction projects by taking various tests to evaluate whether the contractor or subcontractor has complied with job specifications;
  • Identifyand implementsolutions to both routine and more complex field and/or laboratory problems and accurately documents results;
  • Preparereports documenting field investigations and analytical results. Preparea variety of standard logs and field forms (such as drilling logs, field investigation dailies, and chain of custody logs);
  • Learndata management and modeling tools for environmental media, how to perform engineering analyses, and how to properly use field equipment; and
  • Performother duties as requested.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in EnvironmentalEngineering;
  • 0-2years of work-related experience;
  • EIT Certification or current registration for the FE exam preferred;
  • Prior relevant internship or professional work experience preferred;
  • Strong technical education, professional demeanor, and desire to learn;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;
  • Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; and
  • Possess a valid driver’s license in good standing and reliable transportation access to remote job site locations.
