Job summary

Peraton is hiring a Junior Digital Forensic Analyst to join our Federal Strategic Cyber program in the Cyber & Intelligence sector. On-site in Arlington, VA, you will work in CIF to recover and analyze digital evidence across devices and cloud sources for DSS investigations.

You will use Cellebrite, Oxygen Forensic Detective, Magnet Axiom, and other tools to produce clear reports and may provide expert testimony in federal, state, and local proceedings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 1+ year of relevant experience; or 4 additional years of relevant experience without a degree.
• Demonstrated proficiency with mobile and non-mobile forensic software tools.
• Working knowledge of Windows/macOS, Apple iOS, Android and backup technologies.
• Experience writing detailed, technical reports for non-technical audiences.
• Willingness to travel for on-scene evidence seizures, training, and/or testimony.

Responsibilities

• Recover and analyze digital evidence to support investigations.
• Process digital media using forensic tools to support DSS missions.
• Prepare reports and provide expert testimony in proceedings.
• Maintain chain of custody and assist during on-site seizures.
• Stay current on digital forensics, cybersecurity and encryption methods.
