Carvana is hiring a Diesel Technician to join our Fleet Maintenance team. You will work on Class 8 trucks and trailers, focusing on preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to keep our fleet safe and on the road.

Qualifikationen

• At least 6 months of experience with Heavy-Duty Class 8 trucks and trailers or similar equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for diesel engines, transmissions, and vehicle systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic software and using a laptop for manuals.
• Experience with aftertreatment systems and electrical diagnostics.
• MIG welding is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and component replacements on our fleet.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical, engine, and transmission problems using diagnostic tools.
• Address issues with aftertreatment systems (DEF/emissions), perform regenerations, and change filters.
• Maintain accurate records, collaborate with the team to optimize vehicle performance, and minimize downtime.
• Follow safety protocols to ensure the fleet remains compliant with DOT requirements.

Pay range: $20-$24 hourly

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

A Day in the Life: What You'll Be Doing

As a Diesel Technician, you'll be a key part of our Fleet Maintenance team, ensuring our Class 8 fleet is safe and reliable. Our fleet is primarily day cabs and trailers, all under manufacturer warranty—meaning no major engine overhauls or roadside calls.

You’ll perform a variety of tasks, with clear pathways for growth:

• Routine Maintenance & Repair: Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and component replacements on our fleet.
• Diagnostics: Utilize diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot complex electrical, engine, and transmission problems.
• System Repairs: Address issues with aftertreatment systems (DEF/emissions), perform regens, and change filters.
• Collaborate & Optimize: Work with your team to maintain accurate records, optimize vehicle performance, and minimize downtime.
• Safety First: Adhere to all safety protocols and industry best practices to ensure our fleet is always DOT compliant.

What We’re Looking For

We're searching for skilled professionals with a strong background in diesel technology.

• Experience: at least 6 months of experience with Heavy-Duty Class 8 trucks and trailers or similar equipment (e.g., agricultural, construction, waste collection truck).
• Technical Skills:
• • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for diesel engines, transmissions, and vehicle systems.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic software and using a laptop for manuals.
  • Experience with aftertreatment systems and electrical diagnostics.
  • Comfortable with MIG welding is a plus.
• Certifications & Training:
• • A minimum of two ASE Certifications within the first 6 months of employment (we'll reimburse you!).
  • T-series ASE Certifications are highly valued.
• Requirements:
• • A valid Driver's License with clean driving record
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with vehicle maintenance (lifting, bending, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • A solid attendance record and punctuality are essential for this role.
