Kooner Fleet Management Solutions in Fontana, CA is seeking an entry-level Diesel Mechanic/Technician to service Class 6-8 trucks in the field. This field-based role is ideal for tech school grads launching their careers and building hands-on skills.

This position offers competitive pay starting at $22-25/hour, weekly pay on Fridays, and benefits after 30 days, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Tech school graduate with hands-on diesel experience preferred.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance and light repairs on Class 6-8 trucks.
• Must be able to work outdoors in field environments and in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Perform onsite preventative maintenance and light repairs on Class 6-8 trucks in a field environment.
• Respond to dispatch requests for scheduled and unscheduled service or maintenance.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete tasks and document repairs.

Where You’ll Make an Impact

• Perform onsite preventative maintenance, DOT inspections and light follow up repairs on Class 6-8 trucks in a field environment.

• At least1-2yearsof hands-on diesel tech experienceworking on Class 6-8 trucks.

• Comfortable usingmobile apps, navigationsystemsand digital toolsto stay organized and document repairs.
• Ready for the outdoors– rain or shine at customer yards.

• Must beat least 20 years old, with a clean driving recordand avalid driver’s license.

Work Environment

• Work in dynamic, high-traffic areas – safety and precision are key.

• Expect exposure to dust, diesel fumes, and noise typical of a shop or yard environment.

• Safely handle chemicals, oils, and grease as part of repair work.

• Be ready to lift, move, and position heavy equipment or components.

• Stay active – you'll bend, kneel, crawl, and crouch to access vehicle components.

• Work outdoors in all weather conditions – rain or shine, our team gets it done.
