Job summary

Insight Global is seeking multiple Distribution Designers to support electric power distribution and planning projects in Cary, NC. This is an excellent opportunity for recent engineering graduates or early-career professionals interested in utility infrastructure and power delivery systems.

You will work with experienced engineers to design distribution systems, update drawings, and use industry-standard software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• Electrical engineering preferred, other engineering disciplines considered.
• Strong interest in power systems, utilities, or infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design and development of electric power distribution systems.
• Support distribution planning and infrastructure improvement projects.
• Create and update engineering drawings and design packages.
• Utilize client-specific software and design tools to complete project work.
• Work with engineering teams to ensure designs meet project requirements and standards.
• Review project data, maps, and technical documentation.
• Participate in training and occasional field exposure to understand system design and construction practices.
• Support multiple utility customers and project types as needed.

We are seeking multiple Distribution Designers to support a variety of electric power distribution and planning projects. This is an excellent opportunity for recent engineering graduates or early-career professionals interested in utility infrastructure and power delivery systems.

The selected candidates will work alongside experienced engineers and designers to develop distribution system designs, support planning efforts, and gain exposure to industry-standard software and processes. While previous power distribution experience is a plus, training will be provided.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required
• Electrical Engineering preferred
• Other engineering disciplines will be considered
• Strong interest in power systems, utilities, or infrastructure projects
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work onsite in Cary, NC
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
