Job summary

Navajo Elementary School in Scottsdale is seeking an entry-level Facilities Services Worker (Custodial) to perform basic cleaning, maintenance, and grounds work. Responsibilities include trash removal, restroom cleaning, light repairs, and assisting with setup for events and activities.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED and a valid Arizona driver’s license. It is a non-exempt, full-time role with a starting hourly rate in the current pay grade range and opportunities to support

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Responsibilities

• Performs manual labor activities, which includes: emptying trash cans; gathering materials and equipment; placing materials and/or equipment in proper locations; sweeping; setting up furniture and/or equipment; digging; cleaning; moving furnishings; painting; and/or, performing other related tasks.
• Assists and responds to internal customer requests for assistance, inquiries, and/or other related requests; and responds to emergency situations as required to ensure the safety of students and staff.
• Maintains facilities, vehicles, and/or equipment utilized in daily activities; troubleshoots, maintains and performs simple repairs and preventive maintenance to equipment; monitors inventory of supplies.
• Notifies appropriate individuals of required facility and/or equipment repairs.
• Under direction, performs routine, minor repairs.
• Assists in performing routine grounds maintenance activities, including picking up trash, sweeping walkways, and weeding planter areas.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
