First Merchants Bank seeks a Credit Analyst I to join our team in Maryland. You will perform credit analyses, underwriting and ongoing monitoring of the commercial loan portfolio.

A bachelor’s degree is required, and we welcome current students who will graduate in December 2026 or graduates already holding a degree. The role emphasizes accurate financial review, cash flow analysis, risk scoring, and participation in loan committees to ensure sound lending decisions.

Responsibilities

• Perform credit analyses and underwriting for the commercial loan portfolio.
• Monitor portfolio including financial statement spreading and covenant testing.
• Assist in loan decision processes and participate in loan committees as needed.
• Assign call codes, NAICS codes, risk grades and risk ratings accurately.
• Review appraisals and real estate evaluations.
