Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, basic formulas). Familiarity with QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or UltraTax is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Support federal, state, and local tax returns for business and personal matters.
• Prepare and post journal entries; perform bank reconciliations; maintain general ledger accounts.
• Stay current on accounting standards, tax laws, and financial regulations.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Tax Basis of Accounting.
• Tax & Audit Support: Help prepare federal, state, and local tax returns both business and personal
• General Ledger Maintenance: Prepare and post journal entries, perform bank reconciliations, and maintain general ledger accounts.
• Compliance & Research: Stay current on changing accounting standards, tax laws, and financial regulations.
• Client & Team Collaboration: Communicate with internal teams and clients to gather documentation and resolve basic accounting inquiries. Must be good at communicating with clients and client interactions.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• CPA Status: Active CPA license OR actively working toward CPA licensure (e.g., CPA eligible with 150 credit hours, or actively sitting for exams).
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, basic formulas). Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or Ultra Tax Thompson Reuters) is a plus.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, high attention to detail, excellent written/verbal communication, and strong organizational skills.
