Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking an Entry Level Construction Materials Engineering and Testing (CoMET) Technician in Owings Mills, MD. You will be trained to perform routine quality control test procedures on construction projects from the ground up, with no prior experience required.

After training you will read plans, perform field observations and material sampling/testing, and write daily field reports documenting work and compliance with contracts.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to pass drug test.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand applicable construction plans and specifications.
• Perform Field Observations and Materials Sampling/Testing during Construction of Buildings, Bridges and Roadways.
• Perform testing on construction materials including Soils, Reinforcing Steel, Concrete, Masonry, Structural Steel, Roofing and Paving.
• Write Daily Field Reports documenting work performed and indicating compliance/non-compliance with contract documents, plans and specifications.
• Cast Field Samples of Concrete, Masonry, Grout, etc. for strength verification.
• Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and other design professionals.
• Provide daily or milestone updates to Department Manager.
