Job summary

SWE Solutions in Naperville, IL seeks a Construction Engineer I to aid planning, design, and execution of roadway and site construction projects. You will work with senior engineers, contractors, and project managers to ensure adherence to specs, safety standards, and project schedules. Travel to project sites across District 3 Illinois region is required.

Ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Civil or Construction Engineering and 0–2 years of experience. EIT is preferred.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of construction engineering or related entry‑level experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Construction Engineering required.
• Travel to project sites as part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, design, and execution of construction projects.
• Develop schedules, cost estimates, and resource allocations with team.
• Conduct site assessments ensuring safety, quality, and compliance.
• Monitor progress and report issues; support risk management.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers for timely deliveries.
• Prepare drawings, reports, and permits in line with codes.
• Assist in budgeting and resource management for projects.
• Support inspections, testing, and quality control activities.
• Participate in team meetings and ongoing knowledge updates.
• Contribute to continuous improvements in methods and practices.
