Entry Level - Composites Layup Technician

Summary: As a Composites Layup Technician at RACE, you will be responsible for performing tasks to help build high-performance parts for automotive seating systems. This role will be trained to work with carbon fiber and other cutting-edge materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Comply with written work instructions, standard procedures, and processes to assemble composite materials
• Work with materials like carbon fiber, fiberglass, and aramid (Kevlar)
• Use tools like routers, sanders, and hand tools to shape and finish parts
• Assist in fitting core components with attention to close tolerances
• Assist in laying out and marking dimensions and reference lines on materials to develop and trace patterns of product or parts or use templates
• Deliver quality products and services on time
• Handle materials safely and follow workplace safety
• Assist in performing non-routine and non-repetitive procedures in the fabrication, curing, build-up, and assembly of various types of composite materials
• Gain basic familiarity with composite technology, including hi-temp plastics, pre-impregnated epoxy composite materials, graphite epoxy, wet graphite, and silicone injection molding

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Previous work experience in a plant or production environment
• Lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis using proper lifting techniques
• Work with small hand tools, including routers, die grinders, band saws, and Dremel tools for layup and assembly tasks
• Use basic mathematics skills and precision measuring tools to support layup and assembly processes
• Attention to detail
• Basic computer skills

Salary: $16.50 per hour
