Job summary

Labcorp is seeking an entry level Technician in Calabasas, CA. The role involves specimen testing under technical oversight, with focus on accurate sample handling, recording reagents and expiration dates, and maintaining SOP-compliant procedures.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science or medical technology, and computer proficiency. Color vision testing may be required. Pay ranges from $24 to $30 per hour with shift differential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Responsibilities

• Participate in specimen testing according to established procedures under the oversight of a Clinical Lab Scientist.
• Record dates of receipt, use, and expiration for reagents, kits, controls, and standards.
• Perform pipetting using pre-set devices, calibrated and approved devices or fixed-volume dispensers.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and document PMs.
• Adhere to SOPs and safety requirements of Esoterix, CLIA, CAP and other regulators.
• Document activities including maintenance logs, checks, troubleshooting and quality control.
• Develop understanding of laboratory medicine and clinical significance of results.
