AECOM is hosting an entry‑level civil engineer opportunity focused on remediation, based in our Boston, MA office. The role supports the remediation team within Environment, assisting design, fieldwork, and data analysis for soil, groundwater, sediment, and surface water projects.

The position offers hands-on experience across office and field settings, with mentorship from experienced engineers and opportunities to build skills in analysis, reporting, and project coordination.

Formación

• BA/BS in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field or equivalent.
• Valid US Driver’s License; must pass AECOM Motor Vehicle screening.
• U.S. Citizenship required; travel is required for this position.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under supervision.
• Use CAD, GIS and data analysis tools to solve engineering problems.
• Develop technical memoranda and reports; conduct environmental sampling (soil, groundwater, etc.).
• Perform site visits at industrial, federal, commercial and municipal facilities.
• Collect and analyze data for environmental compliance and sustainability; work within budget and schedule.
• Travel locally and US-wide as project requirements dictate; perform field work as needed.

AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Civil Engineer to be based in our Boston, MA office. This position will support our remediation team within our Environment business line.

Entry-Level Civil Engineer

The Entry-Level Civil Engineer will serve as a team member in the office and the field, assisting project and program management with design and implementation of soil, groundwater, sediment, and surface water investigation and remediation programs, data analysis, and report preparation.

Our teams work on complex remediation projects, pulling the right resources from across the company to support project needs. The job responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:

• Preparation of calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer
• Use of computer software (e.g. CAD, GIS, data analysis tools) as a tool for solving basic engineering problems
• Building analytic and engineering design skills under the supervision of an experienced engineer
• Development of technical memoranda and reports
• Environmental sampling (e.g., soil, sediment, groundwater, stormwater, wastewater, air, and hazardous waste)
• Site visits at industrial, federal, commercial, and municipal client facilities
• Data collection and analysis for environmental compliance and sustainability
• Performing work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision
• Local travel is likely and U.S travel possible and project dependent.
• Field work in locations as appropriate

Qualifications:

• BA/BS in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field + 0 years of related experience and/or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• Valid US Driver’s License and as a condition of employment must pass the AECOM Motor Vehicle screening
• Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required
• Travel is required for this position

Preferred Qualifications

• General knowledge of basic engineering, chemistry, and environmental sciences
• Experience and/or demonstrated interest in environmental remediation
