Job Description

AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in Arlington on November 18-19, 2026. This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2027.

The event kicks off on Wednesday evening with a networking mixer from 6-8 pm, where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. You’ll also have the chance to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals from across our business lines.

On Thursday, interviews will take place at our Arlington office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities.

AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Civil Engineer to join our AECOM Transportation Department in either our Glen Allen, VA office. AECOM is searching for candidates that can be creative and impactful on a wide range of transportation projects. Entry-level technical new hires are eligible to participate in AECOM's Graduate Development Program (GDP), a program designed to support assimilation into the organization, help with technical development planning toward licensure (or other early technical milestones), and with creating a foundation of knowledge necessary for future career success.

As an Entry-Level Civil Engineer, you will work with multi-discipline project teams in developing a range of engineering solutions from initial concepts to detailed design development and through construction. This is a diverse role that will involve your contributions and insight into the effective delivery of the department’s current and future portfolio of projects.

This role is expected to start Summer 2027.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree inCivil Engineering.
• Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

• Registration as an E.I.T.
• Strong technical writing and presentation skills
• Flexibility to work on a variety of projects, including highways, bridges and tunnels.
• Flexibility to occasionally work alternate schedules (nights, weekends and holidays) and short-notice work assignments depending on project needs
• Must be detail oriented and demonstrate good problem solving ability.
• Good interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical information in layman’s terms.
• Masters Degree preferred.
• Previous experience with Internships.
• Software Experience: AutoCad, Microstation, MS Office and Structural Analysis Software experience.
