Responsibilities

• Perform basic engineering calculations under senior engineer guidance.
• Support construction-phase activities with inspectors and field condition reviews.
• Gain exposure to real-world project implementation and problem resolution.
• Work with experienced engineers and receive day-to-day mentorship.

Job description

• Review site plans, subdivision and land development applications, and capital improvement projects for compliance with municipal ordinances, standards, and regulations
• Support planning board and zoning board reviews by preparing technical comments and reports
• Communicate clearly and professionally with boards, applicants, inspectors, and internal team members
• Assist with design work on municipal infrastructure projects such as roadway improvements, including preparation of plans and specifications
• Perform basic engineering calculations and analysis under the guidance of senior engineers
• Support construction-phase activities, including coordination with inspectors and review of field conditions
• Gain exposure to how projects are implemented and resolved in real-world conditions
• Work closely with experienced engineers (including recently licensed PEs) who provide day-to-day guidance and mentorship
• Participate in Artheon’s peer mentor program and professional development initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, or scheduled to take the EIT exam
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort participating in public meetings
• Interest in and commitment to municipal engineering work
• Willingness to work from and commit to the Neptune/Tinton Falls, NJ office
• Internship or co-op experience in civil or municipal engineering (preferred)
• Familiarity with municipal infrastructure, transportation, or water/wastewater projects (preferred)
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar engineering software (preferred)
