Job summary

BWXT, Nuclear Fuel Services (NFS) division, is seeking an Engineer 1 to handle routine assignments under supervision. The role develops professional skills and works under guidance from an experienced engineer, with a focus on meeting contract requirements.

The position is onsite in Erwin, TN, requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical Engineering preferred), and eligibility for a DOE security clearance.

Qualifications

• Ability to effectively communicate complex technical information in writing and verbally.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multifunctional team.
• Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship and able to obtain DOE clearance.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates situations and applies standard engineering techniques with guidance.
• Plans and investigates limited possibilities with clear objectives.
• Ensures compliance with contract technical requirements and policies.
• Prepares written reports, drawings, and technical documents.
• Designs tests or experiments and analyzes data.
• Interprets technical specifications and supports customer and vendor interactions.
• Develops knowledge of manufacturing technology and engineering procedures.
