Job summary

SOMACIS, Inc. in Poway, California, is seeking an entry-level CAM Technician to transform customer data into manufacturing-ready NC routs, tools, and documentation.

You will collaborate with Front-End Engineering and manufacturing teams to meet customer timelines and improve production efficiency. The ideal candidate is a high school graduate with 0–2 years’ experience, strong teamwork and communication skills, solid math abilities, and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 0–2 years' experience in manufacturing or CAM-related roles.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Solid math skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Front-End Engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure timely workflows.
• Create, modify, and output tools, programs, and documentation per engineering specs.
• Edit customer CAD data per guidelines and specifications.
• Implement ECN-driven tool/program changes.
• Translate blueprint dimensions into NC rout commands for rout and tooling.
• Verify rout and drill programs for compliance with specs.
• Assist in creating custom tools to improve yields and reduce defects.
• Continually develop skills to stay current with industry trends.
