Job summary

Olsson's Bridge team is seeking an entry-level CAD Drafter who will support bridge planning and design through CAD drafting, design assistance, and technical documentation on transportation projects.

You will work with MicroStation, OpenBridge Designer, and AutoCAD to develop 2D construction plans and 3D bridge models, under guidance from experienced engineers, with growth opportunities and mentorship.

Qualifications

  • You are pursuing or have completed an Associate's degree in CADD, Drafting Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • Graduating in December 2026 or May 2027 is strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Exposure to MicroStation, OpenBridge Designer, AutoCAD or similar drafting software preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Eagerness to learn bridge design standards and industry best practices in a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

  • Support bridge planning and design through CAD drafting and engineering design assistance.
  • Prepare technical documentation and perform occasional field visits.

Job Description

As a member of Olsson's Bridge team, you will contribute to transportation and infrastructure projects that help create safe, reliable, and sustainable communities. You will work alongside experienced engineers, designers, and technical professionals in a collaborative environment focused on learning, innovation, and quality.

In this role, you will support bridge planning and design through CAD drafting, engineering design assistance, technical documentation, and occasional field visits. You will have the opportunity to develop your technical skills while working on bridge projects from concept through construction.

Using industry-leading software such as MicroStation and OpenBridge Designer, you will help develop both two-dimensional construction plans and three-dimensional bridge models. As technology continues to evolve within the transportation industry, you will gain experience with digital delivery methods and emerging practices such as Model as Legal Document (MALD).

Working under the guidance of experienced engineering professionals, you will apply engineering principles, design standards, and industry best practices while contributing to projects that improve critical transportation infrastructure.
