Maskine is a very small Industrial automation consulting company. We program the controllers and equipment that automate manufacturing processes for anything from urban farming to electric cars, or to harvesting solar energy. Despite being a small company, our modern approach to implementing automation solutions has won us big name clients including Tesla, Honeywell, Red Bull, and many others. We're currently expanding our customer base significantly and are looking for talented engineers to help grow the company.Engineers at Maskine are responsible for working closely with our clients to implement creative, efficient automation solutions. We work in a huge variety of industries and with varied technologies which requires our engineers to continuously learn and rise to meet each new challenge in a fast-paced environment.

Description

Want a role where you travel constantly and spend your time at the center of real engineering work? In this position, you'll spend most of the year on customer sites- commissioning systems, troubleshooting in the field, and seeing your code run on real equipment. On-site work carries per diem and travel compensation on top of your base salary, and this role accrues vacation faster than our standard engineering positions.

As an entry-level employee at Maskine, you'll hit the ground running. You'll immediately be given business-critical engineering work for our clients. Training and guidance will always be available, but you'll have the freedom to use your creativity and engineering knowledge base to create solutions as you see fit. You'll also have opportunities in sales and business development to help grow Maskine into new industries. The work isn't easy, but the challenge is what drives us, and you'll never find yourself bored.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop proficiencies in the major PLC platforms
  • Develop proficiencies in major HMI systems
  • Commission solutions at customer sites, including troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by understanding their goals and challenges, conducting business fairly and honestly, and maintaining consistent project communication and concise documentation
  • Assist with sales, business development, and day-to-day business operations
  • Develop and grow your leadership skills

Note: This role is built for engineers with a real appetite for travel. Travel is heaviest during commissioning season and lighter between projects-when you're not onsite, you'll do development work in-house. Expect stretches approaching 100% travel and stretches well below it.

  • General programming experience
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel 75-100% during commissioning periods for your first 18 months at Maskine

After 18 months, you'll have the option to move into a standard engineering role with 25-50% travel

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, now or in the future.
