Sun Auto Tire & Service in Austin, TX is hiring an Entry-Level Automotive Technician. You will perform inspections, maintenance, and basic-to-intermediate repairs while sharpening diagnostic skills alongside seasoned technicians.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years automotive shop experience or equivalent technical training.
• Ability to follow written procedures, torque specs and safety standards.
• Willingness to ask for help, accept coaching, and escalate concerns when needed.
• Basic proficiency with shop technology including DVI/MPI tools, scan tools, and documentation systems.
• Possess and use basic tools required for the role.
• Valid driver’s license and successful MVR check.
• State Inspector License if required, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform Multi-Point and Digital Vehicle Inspections with proper documentation.
• Complete maintenance and entry-level repairs: oil, fluids, filters, batteries, tires, brakes, basic cooling, starting, charging.
• Handle tire mounting/dismounting, balancing, rotations, and related wear-item replacements.
• Perform basic diagnostics with guidance and escalate complex driveability or safety concerns.
• Follow repair procedures, torque specs, bleed procedures, and post-repair checks.
• Conduct State Safety and Emission Inspections where applicable.
• Communicate findings and repair status to store managers and service advisors.
• Keep the work area clean and safe, comply with PPE and hazardous waste rules.
• Collaborate with team, accept coaching, and participate in ongoing training.
• Work a flexible schedule, including weekends as needed.
