Job summary

Harris Computer is seeking an entry-level Software Developer focused on AI-enhanced development for our property appraisal and tax-collection platform. You will work with VB.NET, C#, .NET, WinForms, WPF/XAML, ASP.NET Core APIs, and SQL Server, contributing to design, coding, testing, and documentation while collaborating across teams.

You will learn MVVM patterns, identity management, and AI agent workflows, applying best practices to deliver scalable, secure software.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field; AI and software development coursework or projects are a plus.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, enhance, troubleshoot, maintain and modernize Realware/Collectware, our multi-application enterprise software platform for property appraisal and tax collection.
Develop and support applications and services built with VB.NET, C#, .NET, WinForms, WPF/XAML, ASP.NET Core APIs, and Microsoft SQL Server.
Experience with MVVM patterns, identity and access management solutions such as Keycloak, reporting tools such as ActiveReports, and UI component libraries such as Infragistics is beneficial.
Quickly learn and contribute within a large, mature enterprise platform, balancing new feature development, modernization initiatives, operational support, and technical debt reduction.
Develop a strong understanding of property appraisal, assessment, and tax collection business processes and apply that knowledge to design, validate, and deliver effective software solutions.
Design, develop, and maintain database schemas, queries, stored procedures, APIs, integrations, and application components that support scalable, secure, and high-performing business solutions.
Leverage AI-assisted and prompt-driven development tools throughout the software development lifecycle to enhance productivity, quality, and innovation, including requirements analysis, solution design, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, refactoring, code reviews, and bug triage.
Contribute to the design, development, and continuous improvement of agentic workflows that automate and streamline activities across the software development lifecycle, including issue investigation, software development, testing, code review, and documentation.
Create and maintain AI agent instructions, context files, skills, and development standards that enable AI agents to effectively understand the application architecture, business domain, coding standards, and engineering practices.
Identify and champion opportunities to leverage AI and automation to improve engineering efficiency, product capabilities, software quality, and customer-facing workflows.
Use Azure DevOps, Git, GitHub, Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, and AI-assisted development tools as part of an efficient and collaborative software delivery workflow.
Collaborate with developers, QA, product owners, support, and other team members to investigate issues, resolve technical challenges, and deliver high-quality product enhancements.
Troubleshoot, debug, refactor, and optimize applications to improve performance, scalability, reliability, maintainability, security, and overall customer experience.
