Job summary

This entry-level role supports data entry, labeling, matching patient information, and document scanning; temp-status with a full-time schedule, Tuesday-Saturday 8:00am-4:30pm; you will work in a fast-paced lab and help maintain accuracy and quality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of accessioning experience preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with production and quality standards.
• Ability to work in a biohazard environment and comply with safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Receives and sorts specimens for testing.
• Reviews requisitions for missing information and coordinates with Client Services to obtain it.
• Enters data into LIS, labels samples, creates folders, and forwards samples to departments.
• Assembles case paperwork and pre-analytic documentation.
• Performs add-on testing entries and coordinates split specimens.
• Ships specimens to reference laboratories and maintains logs.
• Performs quality assurance checks on samples.
• Maintains chain of custody for slides and blocks and oversees QC workflow.
• Identifies and reports quality or compliance concerns and takes corrective action.
