Banyan Software is launching an Entrepreneur in Residence program to build AI-native companies from within our portfolio. As an EIR, you’ll stand up a new venture that leverages existing domain knowledge, IP, and customer relationships, while operating with startup speed and accountability.

This is a founder role, not corporate innovation, where you own the outcome and shape product, growth, and culture from day one.

Qualifications

• Zero-to-one experience taking a product from 0 to meaningful initial revenue (~$1M ARR).
• Builder mindset: hands-on engineer who loves problem solving and product strategy.
• AI-native thinker: builds AI-first products and AI-first support and delivery models.
• Founder DNA: urgent ownership, comfortable with ambiguity and limited resources.
• Product-led: deep product instincts; hands-on in shaping what gets built.
• Domain fit: ability to understand or quickly absorb the vertical.
• Track record: early-stage startup experience (seed to Series A).

The Opportunity

We are launching a new Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) program to build AI-native companies from within our portfolio. Across our 100+ operating companies, we hold deep domain expertise, loyal customers, and operating infrastructure built up over decades, much of it in specialized markets where the incumbent software hasn't been rethought for what AI can now do.

Rather than ask an existing team to build the next thing alongside their day job, we're recruiting a Founder to do it from a blank slate. As an EIR, you'll stand up a new, AI-first company that leverages the domain knowledge, IP, and customer relationships of an established Banyan business, while operating independently with the speed, focus, and accountability of a startup.

This is a Founder role, not a corporate innovation role. You will own the outcome.

What You'll Do

• Partner with Banyan and an existing operating company to identify and validate a high-conviction, AI-native product opportunity adjacent to their core business.
• Stand up a new company from the ground up: product, team, go-to-market, and culture, built AI-first from day one.
• Take the product from $0 toward meaningful recurring revenue, using the domain expertise, source code, data, and customer relationships of the partner business as a running start.
• Build it lean. You are excited about building a sellable product, not just a demo, without managing a big team.
• Operate with full accountability for the venture's product, growth, and financial performance.
• Work in close partnership with the leadership of the affiliated operating company and with Banyan's central team, without inheriting the legacy constraints of the existing business.

This isn't a traditional executive hire. We're looking for a specific kind of operator: someone wired to build, not manage.

• Domain fit: you understand, or can quickly absorb, the vertical you're entering.
• Track record: early-stage startup experience (seed to Series A).
