Job summary

Isleta Resort & Casino seeks an Entertainment Events Manager to secure and implement world-class entertainment and special events at the national, regional, and local level, supporting the Marketing Department.

Responsibilities include managing entertainers, contracts, budgets, and coordinating with multiple departments to ensure ROI and guest satisfaction. Must meet education and experience requirements and pass required background checks.

Qualifications

  • BA degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or a related discipline is required.
  • 1 year proven working experience in entertainment and/or casino field preferred.
  • Talent buying and contract review experience is a plus.
  • Or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.

Responsibilities

  • Manage entertainers and performances, including venue and schedule coordination.
  • Negotiate contracts and fees with acts, agencies, and talent buyers.
  • Create and manage the Entertainment Budget and related capital budgets.
  • Coordinate with in-house departments (Security, Hotel, Retail, F&B) for events.

Position Summary

Responsible for securing and implementing world class entertainment and special events on the national, regional, and local level for the Isleta Resort & Casino In addition to Supporting the Marketing Department.

Isleta Resort and Casino Guest Service Agreement

All Team Members will display 100% commitment to World Class Guest Service through the delivery and maintenance of Guest Service Standards established by the Isleta Resort and Casino.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: This list of tasks is illustrative ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class. It does not imply that all positions within the class perform all of the duties listed, nor does it necessarily list all possible duties that may be assigned.

  • 1. Responsible for Managing entertainers and artists, performances, and events.
  • 2. Responsible for managing any Entertainment or Special Event contracts and making sure it follows all in-house processes and lawyer reviews when processing. Must follow up with completion of all parties and subsequent distribution.
  • 3. Responsible for creating and managing the Entertainment Budget and any associated Capital Budgets including working with financials.
  • 4. Manages any Talent Buying Agencies, Entertainers, or Special Event groups such as Festival and Fair groups.
  • 5. Responsible for negotiating any contracts, fees, or special requests either directly, or in tandem with a Talent Buyer or with a booking agency.
  • 6. Responsible for managing all vendors including production agencies including sound and lighting agencies as well as set up or tear down crews.
  • 7. Must be able to manage our outside vendors such as ticketing companies, transportation companies, hotels, publicists, 3rd party entertainment sponsors, agencies and merchandise vendors etc. in a professional manner.
  • 8. Must be able to manage our in-house departments such as catering, transportation, hotel, security and retail.
  • 9. Manages and prepares, logs, files, enters, processes and maintains department purchase requisitions for Entertainment and Special Events including any associated Promotional or Player Development needs or requests.
  • 10. Coordinates all Special Events and Entertainment with other departments involved such as Security, Hotel, Retail, Food and Beverage, Players Cub/Box Office etc.
  • 11. Must stay current on regional and local entertainment venues, acts and routing for acts and special event opportunities.
  • 12. Responsible for researching acts and providing information on past bookings including but not limited to venues played, average ticket prices, associated opening or closing acts, demographics on fan base, genre of music.
  • 13. Manages and maintains the Isleta Resort and Casino’s Entertainment contacts or databases of booking agents, acts, production companies, and any associated entertainment or special event vendor.
  • 14. Accurately tracks all Resort & Casino Entertainment or Special Events and maintaining and providing reports to determine the return of investment (ROI) or the effectiveness and profitability of individual acts, entertainers, or special events.
  • 15. Manages all schedules and processing of paperwork for all volunteers and paid volunteers or workers including ushers for all Entertainment & Special Events.
  • 16. Coordinates efforts with other departments internally to service anticipated guest needs.
  • 17. Responsible for arranging for artist and any associated VIP or sponsor ticket requests.
  • 18. Ensures the departmental operations are in continued compliance with the Isleta Resort and Casino policies and procedures, State Compact, and Tribal Gaming Regulations.
  • 19. Must be knowledgeable on all entertainment, promotions, special events and be able to provide information to all Isleta Resort and Casino employees and guests.
  • 20. Responsible for hiring and managing the ushers and/or any events staff including writing and maintaining schedules and managing payroll requirements associated with overtime.
  • 21. Assists the Director of Marketing as needed.
  • 22. May perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • 1. BA degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or a related discipline required.
  • 2. One (1) years proven working experience in entertainment and/or casino field required.
  • 3. Talent buying & contract review experience preferred.
  • 4. Or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certification
  • 1. Must acquire and maintain a Gaming License through POIGRA.
  • 2. Pass pre-employment drug test and background investigation.
  • 3. Must maintain all Isleta Resort and Casino-wide educational and certification requirements.
  • 4. Flexible work schedule, willingness to work any days/hours as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • 1. Ability to exhibit a positive attitude towards internal and external guests at all times.
  • 2. Ability to take direction and feedback in a positive manner.
  • 3. Possess advanced computer skills and be able to operate Microsoft applications and Marketing software programs.
  • 4. Ability to accurately and successfully perform several tasks and meet deadlines under high levels of stress and with minimal supervision.
  • 5. Possess strong organizational and time management skills while paying close attention to details.
  • 6. Provides solid project management skills to manage multi-faceted and complex entertainment and special events programs including detailed and effective verbal and visual communication skills with both internal and external departments, vendors, and agencies.
  • 7. Ability to Defuse hostile guest situations with ease and tact.
  • 8. Knowledge of basic mathematics.
  • 9. Possess a highly developed sense of customer service and interpersonal skills including high integrity and respect for individuals.
  • 10. Ability to make sound and accurate decisions.
  • 11. Ability to provide a strong commitment to the organizational goals and objectives while showing the utmost discretion and loyalty to the organization when dealing with confidential information and data.
  • 12. Strong critical and analytical thinking skills.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • 1. Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time.
  • 2. Must be able to lift, move, and place 25 pounds.
Working Conditions:

Work is generally performed in, both, a Casino setting with possible exposure to second-hand smoke and a high noise level, and a high paced office setting; occasionally may be required to interact with hostile and/or angry guests.
