Qualifications

Description

The Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensiveanalytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremelylarge data sets, real-time systems, and business managementinformation systems) based upon documented requirements. Worksindividually or as part of a team. Reviews and tests softwarecomponents for adherence to the design requirements and documentstest results. Resolves software problem reports. Utilizes softwaredevelopment and software design methodologies appropriate to thedevelopment environment. Provides specific input to the softwarecomponents of system design to include hardware/software tradeoffs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-Shelf(COTS) / Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) in place of newdevelopment, and requirements analysis and synthesis from systemlevel to individual software components.

Clearance

A current Top-Secret/SCI with polygraph security clearance is required. Candidates cannot be sponsored or nominated for a government security clearance under this position.

Experience

Fourteen (14) years' experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

Required skills:

• Experience with object-oriented programming language constructs
• Experience with Linux operating systems (RHEL preferred)
• Experience developing with interpreted languages, such as Python
• Strong foundation in test-driven development (TDD) practices
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Podman, K8s, Helmcharts)

Desired skills:

• Experience with the Go programming language and concurrent/parallel processing patterns
• Experience with TypeScript and Angular framework for web application development
• Experience with stream processing systems (Kafka, Redis Streams, AMQP, Redpanda Connect/Benthos)
• Possession of excellent customer relations skills, including managing requirements for feature requests
• Experience with web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1)
• Familiarity with cloud technologies and concepts (AWS preferred)
• Experience with agentic development workflows and AI-assisted coding tools
• Familiarity with the Atlassian suite of tools for project management (Jira, Confluence)
