Responsibilities

The Senior Project Manager - Enterprise is responsible for leading high-impact, enterprise-wide initiatives that support strategic business goals. This role manages multiple complex projects simultaneously—spanning technology, operations, and business transformation—ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The Senior Project Manager - Enterprise partners with executive leaders, functional teams, and external vendors to drive alignment, manage risk, and achieve measurable business outcomes.

This role will interact regularly with members across NYBCe and departments (Example: Leadership Team, Finance, IT, Quality, Operations etc.) and key stakeholders for facilitating the efficient implementation and growth of the managed projects and programs. Requires self-direction, the ability to operate with ambiguity, and a level of perseverance to manage multiple iterations of tasks

Strategic Project Leadership:

  • Lead large-scale, cross-functional enterprise projects and programs that have significant business impact.

Planning & Execution:

  • Define project scope, goals, deliverables, success metrics, timelines, and budgets in alignment with enterprise strategy.
  • Lead meetings with business, technical, and cross-functional representatives regarding the project activities, timeline, and issues.
  • Articulate project status, key issues, and dependencies to all levels of management.
  • May work with Agile project manager regarding status of projects within a program as needed.
  • Accountable for program/project success with the sponsors.
  • Defines and coordinates the securing of commitments from cross-functional groups and external providers in terms of resources, cost, schedule, and performance.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Act as the primary liaison between executive sponsors, business units, and delivery teams—communicating progress, risks, and dependencies.
  • Cultivate a close working relationship with the project core team in order to understand overall requirements and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Interfaces with all areas affected by the program or project including end users, consultants, and vendors.
  • Ensures development of strong positive relationships and collegiality among the organization’s resources and staff.

Risk & Issue Management:

  • Proactively identify, manage and track risks, issues, and interdependencies to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Analyzes, evaluates, and overcomes program or project risks, and produces program/project reports for sponsors, stakeholders and project teams.

Governance & Reporting:

  • Develop executive-level reports and dashboards to track key milestones, KPIs, and performance against goals.
  • Regularly updates relevant business stakeholders of project or program status.
  • Produces all relevant projects management deliverables such as project objectives and requirements, risk assessments, project communication plans, project status reports, open issues logs, change logs, action items list etc.; project risks will be escalated to sponsors on a timely basis for decision resolution and disposition in accordance to NYBCe PMO guideline.

Change & Transformation Management:

  • Champion organizational change initiatives, ensuring smooth adoption of new systems, processes, or technologies.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory obligations, reporting requirements and change control standards.
  • Ensures compliance of all aspects of policies, guidelines, practices, procedures, and regulations.

Mentorship & Leadership:

  • Mentor Project Managers and coordinate efforts within the Project Management Office to promote consistency and best practices.
  • Builds, leads, and coaches multiple project teams throughout project lifecycles.
  • Proactively leads, coaches, and motivates project team members, project leads, or less experienced project managers.

Vendor & Contract Oversight

  • Manage vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and alignment with enterprise objectives.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Evaluate project outcomes and identify opportunities to refine methodologies, processes, and tools for future initiatives.
  • Actively contributes to NYBCe PMO standards, guidelines, and knowledge base.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Computer Science, or related field.

Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience with multiple Project Management Methodologies (i.e Six Sigma, Agile, Waterfall, PMBOK, Lean, etc.) in managing medium to large projects.
  • 3+ years of experience in leadership/management roles.
  • 3+ years of experience in software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • 3+ years of experience as an Agile Team Lead, Scrum Master, or Product Owner, leading project activities such as backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-up meetings, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives.

Certifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certified. (must achieved in the first year of employment)

Knowledge:

  • Expert level proficiency with project management tools/software packages (i.e. ServiceNow, Smartsheet, MS Project, SharePoint, Jira, OneNote, Visio, Office 365, etc.)
  • Knowledge of project management and change management principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry.
  • Knowledge of software requirements, test specifications, and computer systems validation.

Skills:

  • Proven project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, and adapt to new projects rapidly and effectively in a matrix environment.
  • Strong multitasking skills, able to shift focus and priorities, and reprioritize project portfolio as needed.
  • Cultural competency and the ability to communicate effectively in a culturally sensitive manner with both individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle a variety of complex issues and situations. Position requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with a variety of staff up to and including executive leadership.

For applicants who will perform this position in Westchester County, the proposed annual salary is $150,000.00 to $160,000.00 per year. For applicants who will perform this position outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates and be commensurate with the applicant’s skills, job-related knowledge, and experience
