Job summary

CSA is seeking a Junior Systems Administrator to monitor and maintain the Enterprise security posture with a focus on patching, compliance, and vulnerability scanning. This role requires discretionary decision-making across DoD standards and IT operations, working from our Pensacola-area centers.

You will support group policy testing, STIGs, and security updates while collaborating with program managers and admins to keep critical networks secure.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one.
• 3 years of experience in system, network, or database administration.
• Experience configuring systems for compliance standards.
• Experience interpreting technical assessments and communicating security issues to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot to diagnose system problems and document events for a hardened state.
• Coordinate with application owners, program managers, and DBAs to initiate corrective actions and test items like STIGs and CTOs.
• Help customers monitor performance and use tools to automate continuous scanning and highlight misconfigurations.
• Identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical network and maintain security posture.
• Turn metrics into information and communicate system state.

CSA is looking for a Junior Systems Administrator who specializes in monitoring and maintaining the Enterprise security posture with a solid background in patching, security configuration compliance, and vulnerability scanning who regularly exercises discretionary and substantial decision-making authority. How Your Role Will Make an Impact

• As a systems administrator on our team, you’ll perform troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common system problems and document system events to ensure continuous functionality for a hardened state.
• Coordinate with all applicable application owners, program managers, and database administrators to initiate corrective actions and help to perform some of the testing of new items, including Group Policies, Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Computer Task Orders (CTOs) and security updates.
• Help customers to overcome tough challenges through monitoring and performance management, using tools to automate continuous scanning and highlight misconfigurations as they arise.
• Use your technical expertise to identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission critical network and ensure security posture is maintained.
• Turn metrics into information and communicate their meaning and system state.
• Gain experience in compliance remediation and scanning to ensure applications and system resources are compliant with DoD hardening Requirements.

• Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active Secret Clearance or have the ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret Clearance.
• 3 years of relevant experience General Experience with Electronic Documentation, System Administration, Network Administration, Database Administration
• Experience in configuring systems and hardware for compliance standards.
• Experience with interpreting technical assessments and communicating security issues to program leadership.
• Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
• Security+ certification OR qualifying bachelors degree to meet DoD8140 DCWF WRC 451 requirements.

• Experience with Cybersecurity assessments using DoD hardening, RMF controls, CIS Benchmarks, and automated solutions.
• Experience with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) for securing networks, servers, and computers to enhance overall security.
• Experience with system administration supporting DoD network systems, including Navy systems.
• Experience with scripting, including PowerShell.
• Experience with: MECM, ACAS, and Group Policies.
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a dynamic and fluid environment.
• Active Secret clearance.
• Microsoft Certifications.
• Navy Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) Computing Environment Certification for designated Operating Systems.
• Bachelor's degree.
