Job summary

CSA seeks a Junior Systems Administrator to monitor and maintain the Enterprise security posture with a focus on patching, compliance, and vulnerability scanning. The role involves discretionary decision-making and collaboration with application owners, PMs, and DBAs to implement corrective actions.

With a Secret clearance or ability to obtain one, you will help ensure DoD hardening and security compliance across networks and systems, including scripting and automation tasks.

Qualifications

  • Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
  • 3 years of experience in system/network/documentation roles.
  • Experience configuring systems for compliance standards.
  • Ability to communicate security issues to leadership.
  • Capable of independent and team work in a dynamic environment.
  • Security+ or equivalent certification to meet DoD requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot to isolate and diagnose system problems and document events.
  • Coordinate with application owners, PMs, and DBAs to initiate corrective actions and test items.
  • Assist customers with monitoring and performance management and automate scans.
  • Identify problem areas and recommend improvements in a mission-critical network.
  • Turn metrics into information and communicate system state to stakeholders.
  • Gain experience in compliance remediation and DoD hardening scans.

Job description

CSA is looking for a Junior Systems Administrator who specializes in monitoring and maintaining the Enterprise security posture with a solid background in patching, security configuration compliance, and vulnerability scanning who regularly exercises discretionary and substantial decision-making authority.

Working from operations centers and shipyards to training sites and program offices, CSA deploys experienced teams, innovative tools and proven processes to advance federal missions.

How Your Role Will Make an Impact:
  • As a systems administrator on our team, you’ll perform troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common system problems and document system events to ensure continuous functionality for a hardened state.
  • You’ll coordinate with all applicable application owners, program managers, and database administrators to initiate corrective actions and help to perform some of the testing of new items, including Group Policies, Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Computer Task Orders (CTOs) and security updates.
  • You’ll help customers to overcome tough challenges through monitoring and performance management, using tools to automate continuous scanning and highlight misconfigurations as they arise.
  • Your technical expertise will be vital as you identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission critical network and ensure security posture is maintained.
  • Your experience and communication skills will come in handy as you turn metrics into information and communicate their meaning and system state.

What You Will Need to Join Our Award-Winning Team:
  • Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active Secret Clearance or have the ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret Clearance.
  • 3 years of relevant experience General Experience with Electronic Documentation, System Administration, Network Administration, Database Administration
  • experience in configuring systems and hardware for compliance standards.
  • experience with interpreting technical assessments and communicating security issues to program leadership.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Security+ certification OR qualifying bachelors degree to meet DoD8140 DCWF WRC 451 requirements
What Sets You Apart:
  • Experience with Cybersecurity assessments using DoD hardening, RMF controls, CIS Benchmarks, and automated solutions.
  • Experience with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) for securing networks, servers, and computers to enhance overall security.
  • Experience with system administration supporting DoD network systems, including Navy systems.
  • Experience with scripting, including PowerShell.
  • Experience with: MECM, ACAS, and Group Policies.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a dynamic and fluid environment.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Microsoft Certifications.
  • Navy Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) Computing Environment Certification for designated Operating Systems.
  • Bachelor's degree.
