Job summary

BlackCube Labs seeks a Terraform Network Automation Architect/Engineer for a six-week, full-time engagement to automate deployment and configuration of Cisco and Palo Alto devices using Terraform.

The role demands hands-on engineering, troubleshooting, and evolving a brownfield network into a version-controlled, testable IaC environment with strict PST hours.

Strong LAN/WAN automation, Terraform expertise, and experience with network device configurations are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience using Terraform for network device automation, not just cloud infrastructure.
• Strong LAN and WAN automation and configuration expertise is required.
• Direct hands-on experience with Cisco networking equipment and Palo Alto firewalls is required.
• Experience evolving brownfield networks into an Infrastructure as Code model.

Responsibilities

• Assess the existing brownfield Cisco and Palo Alto environment and identify what must be re-architected, standardized, or cleaned up.
• Design and build Terraform modules to automate deployment and configuration of Cisco devices and Palo Alto firewalls.
• Establish version control practices and workflow for network configuration as code.
• Build and execute regression testing to validate IaC changes against production behavior.
• Translate manual processes into repeatable, tested Infrastructure as Code, and troubleshoot Terraform plans.
