Job summary

WDAM is looking for a Reporter/MMJ to join our award-winning team. The successful candidate can generate their own story ideas and has a strong desire for enterprise storytelling and covering live, breaking news.

We are looking for someone who likes news/journalism, and not someone who just wants to be on television. Duties include planning stories, pitching and covering enterprise pieces, and reporting on breaking news while shooting interviews and video for multiple platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism or equivalent is required.
• Excellent writing, storytelling, videography and editing skills.
• Able to report in a broad range of styles with strong on-air presentation.

Responsibilities

• Plan stories for Pine Belt coverage and generate enterprise reporting.
• Pitch and cover two stories per day, including breaking news.
• Cover live events and target reports for TV, web and social platforms.
• Shoot interviews and video, edit, and post stories to WDAM.COM.
• Meet tight deadlines and work weekends, holidays and weather coverage.
