Job summary

National Life Group seeks a Compliance leader to influence enterprise strategy, lead teams, and ensure regulatory alignment across the fixed life and annuity business.

The role partners with the Chief Compliance Officer for Life & Annuity to implement and maintain strategic initiatives, oversee regulatory oversight, investigations, and customer protection while driving risk-based projects and a strong compliance culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10+ years in compliance and fixed life/annuity.
• Ability to drive strategic and operational initiatives.
• Ability to interpret and communicate complex regulatory topics to diverse audiences.
• Professional tact and ability to interact with leaders at all levels.
• Advanced problem-solving and project leadership experience.
• Proven ability to guide cross-functional teams to meet goals.
• Demonstrate alignment with NLG values and servant leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams across locations to design and implement new compliance processes.
• Build relationships with regulators, stakeholders, and customers to foster a compliant culture.
• Provide compliance direction and independent judgement grounded in best practice.
• Coach and mentor direct reports for success and accountability.
• Contribute to long-term compliance strategy and 1–3 year initiatives.
• Advise Operations and Distribution on regulatory developments and requirements.
• Deliver training to producers and home office associates as needed.
