UC San Diego Health is seeking an Enterprise Imaging IT Analyst for the Hillcrest site to support the design, implementation, and operation of clinical imaging IT systems. This 100% onsite role sits in Information Services and focuses on secure data management, tools integration, and end-user support.

Ideal candidates bring deep expertise in imaging workflows, hardware/software administration, and cross-department collaboration to optimize imaging systems and user productivity.

Qualifications

  • Seven (7) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area plus three (3) years of related experience/training.
  • Proven fluency and skills in relevant hardware, software and / or database administration, including development, implementation, maintenance, user support, and system testing and evaluation.
  • Detail oriented, with proven ability to manage time, tasks and competing priorities; able to address complex, urgent issues and manage mid-size projects.
  • Strong communications skills, with the ability to convey complex information to end users at all professional and technical levels.
  • Strong problem-resolution skills, with the ability to work collaboratively to identify problems and implement solutions.
  • Skilled in documentation, reporting and applying metrics to measure, evaluate and test performance.
  • Ability to implement new releases and upgrades; ability to work with senior staff across departments.

Description

Clinical Imaging IT involves the design and management of software, hardware and databases for a clinical imaging system(s), used in clinical practice and / or research. Supports a secured network for the transmission of patient information, workstations for interpreting and reviewing images, and archives for the storage and retrieval of images and reports. Provides technical training and assistance to users.

Experienced professional who knows how to apply theory and put it into practice with in-depth understanding of the professional field; independently performs the full range of responsibilities within the function; possesses broad job knowledge; analyzes problems / issues of diverse scope and determines solutions.

Uses experience as a seasoned clinical imaging systems professional with a broad understanding of clinical imaging systems. Applies skills to projects of medium size at all levels of complexity, or to portions of large projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designs and maintains the software, hardware and / or databases for at all levels of complexity.
  • Activities include data integrity and utilization, file management, workflows, end user needs and integration of data streams.
  • Troubleshoots escalated issues of moderate complexity in regards to hardware / software; performs research as needed to address challenging problems.
  • Works on project teams to customize functions, implement software algorithms, integrate systems, develop and conduct quality assurance tests and determine need for appropriate upgrades.
  • Designs and conducts training in workflows and processes, hardware, and operating systems to improve user productivity and efficiency.
  • Stays current on regulations, advances, and trends in the field of clinical imaging and makes proposals to management for complex solutions and automated tools to optimize the use and storage of clinical images.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Seven (7) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area plus three (3) years of related experience/training. Related experience: IT / clinical imaging systems experience.
  • Proven fluency and skills in relevant hardware, software and / or database administration, including development, implementation, maintenance, user support, and system testing and evaluation.
  • Detail oriented, with proven ability to manage time, tasks and competing priorities. Ability to effectively address complex, urgent issues as they arise. Ability to manage mid-size projects.
  • Strong communications skills, with the ability to convey complex information to end users at all professional and technical levels.
  • Strong problem-resolution skills, with the ability to work collaboratively to quickly identify complex problems, and develop, test, and implement effective solutions.
  • Skilled in documentation, reporting and applying metrics to measure, evaluate and test performance.
  • Ability to implement new releases, and upgrades.
  • Ability to work with senior staff and managers in across departments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Thorough knowledge of clinical IT operations, clinical IT systems and complex concepts, principles, methodologies, and best practices involved with managing, storing, and transferring medical content.
  • Knowledge of clinical image workflows and systems.
  • Experience with phone support for IT solutions and/or direct management of IT physical resources (computer workstations, network attached technologies).
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $100,100 - $187,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $47.94 - $89.80

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
