Job summary

M&T Bank Corporation is seeking a seasoned leader to drive the enterprise Generative AI program from strategy through execution. This role partners with risk, legal, compliance, and data teams to deliver scalable, measurable AI capabilities across the bank, aligned with regulatory requirements and strategic objectives.

The candidate will establish governance, operating models, and adoption strategies while managing budgets, timelines, and a multi-disciplinary team to realize business value

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years’ proven project management experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to negotiate, influence and gain consensus.
• Regularly communicates with executive management on status of initiatives.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Self‑motivated, results‑driven and organized.
• Ability to work individually as well as in a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and ongoing evolution of the Bank's Generative AI strategy, transforming concepts and priorities into actionable programs.
• Establish and maintain a sustainable enterprise Generative AI operating model, including governance and funding mechanisms.
• Partner with risk, legal, compliance, and data teams to operationalize AI capabilities safely and compliantly.
• Develop and manage the roadmap for Generative AI initiatives balancing innovation and risk.
• Drive cross-functional execution of AI use cases from ideation to implementation.
• Establish frameworks and processes for scalable AI governance and controls.
• Monitor industry trends and regulatory developments to evolve AI strategy.
• Lead organizational change management for responsible AI adoption.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and customer experience with Generative AI.
• Build executive-facing reporting and metrics for adoption, value, and risk.
