Job summary

Vaco is seeking an Enterprise Data Platform Architect for a direct-hire role located in Irving, TX (4 days per week onsite). The role will modernize and standardize the enterprise data ecosystem across OnPrem SQL Server, DB2, Azure, and Fabric, building a governed Lakehouse platform to support acquisitions and trusted reporting.

Qualifications

• Enterprise Data Architecture across hybrid OnPrem SQL Server / DB2 / MS Azure / MS Fabric environments.
• MS Fabric Lakehouse design and Azure data platform expertise.
• SQL Server / DB2 architecture and optimization for enterprise reporting.
• Enterprise BI governance including PowerBI assets and Fabric workspaces.
• CI/CD and production data operations standards.

Responsibilities

• Govern enterprise platforms: PowerBI / MS Fabric / SQL Server / DB2 environments; standardize governance.
• Establish observability: New Relic telemetry, monitoring, alerting, and orchestration standards.
• Define security, access controls, metadata standards, and data lineage practices.
• Design and govern lakehouse architectures integrating ERP/CRM/operational data.
• Lead data modeling, MDM, metadata and data quality standards.
• Lead post-merger data integration and cloud modernization initiatives.
• Partner with business/technology leadership to deliver scalable, secure BI platforms.
• Provide architectural direction and mentor data engineering/BI/DBA teams.

JOB SUMMARY

Vaco is currently seeking a Data Architect for a Direct-Hire opportunity that is located in Irving, TX 75039 (4days [M-TH] per week onsite). The Enterprise Data Platform Architect will modernize and standardize the enterprise data ecosystem as it continues to grow through acquisitions. The Enterprise Data Platform Architect will define enterprise data architecture across OnPrem SQL Server / DB2 environments and MS Azure / Fabric, consolidating data from multiple ERP, CRM, and operational systems into a governed Lakehouse platform. Beyond designing the architecture, the Enterprise Data Platform Architect individual will establish enterprise standards for data modeling, governance, master data, security, DevOps, and observability while providing technical leadership to Data Engineering, BI, and DBA teams. The primary objective of the Enterprise Data Platform Architect will be to establish a governed, enterprise-ready MS Fabric platform that restores consistency, standardization, and trusted enterprise reporting while building a scalable, acquisition-ready data foundation that supports continued growth through acquisitions.

This project is focused on transforming a fragmented enterprise data environment into a governed, enterprise-ready Microsoft Fabric platform. The goal is to standardize architecture, governance, and enterprise reporting across SQL Server, DB2, Azure, and Fabric while building a scalable Lakehouse that supports trusted analytics and simplifies future acquisition integrations.
