Job summary

Sammons Financial Group is seeking a Systems Analyst to design and implement scalable data pipelines and ELT/ETL solutions using Snowflake, dbt, and modern data engineering tools. The role offers alignment to Systems Analyst 2/3 levels with potential for growth within a financial services environment.

Candidate will integrate enterprise systems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure data quality through governance and QA practices.

Qualifications

• College degree in computer science, information science, or MIS preferred.
• Minimum 8 years IT development experience or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with business partners and IT staff.
• Strong problem-solving abilities to research and propose solutions.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Ability to direct and coordinate work without HR management responsibility.
• Knowledge of programming languages as required for the system.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement scalable data pipelines and ELT/ETL solutions using Snowflake and modern data engineering frameworks.
• Develop and manage data transformations and orchestration using dbt, ADF, ADL, or comparable tools.
• Integrate Snowflake with enterprise systems and cloud data platforms (MuleSoft, Kafka, REST APIs).
• Collaborate with product owner, architects, and developers to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Prepare and interpret business, functional, and non-functional requirements into data models and pipelines.
• Establish and enforce data engineering standards, best practices, and governance controls.
• Implement quality assurance of data processing, transformations, and error resolution.
• Monitor pipeline performance, reliability, and cost efficiency; suggest improvements.
• Research and recommend emerging tools and technologies to improve data delivery and integration efficiency.
• Certifications in Snowflake.
• Experience in the Life Insurance or Financial Services domain.

What You Can Expect In This Role

This position may be filled at the Systems Analyst 2 or 3 level, based on skills, experience, and alignment to the role’s scope as evaluated through our structured selection process.

Enterprise data engineers (systems analyst) will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable data and integration solutions. This role requires strong technical skills in Snowflake, SQL and DBT, with a focus on enabling high-quality data flow and seamless integration across enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will be both a hands‑on technologist and a strategic thinker who ensures solutions are performant, secure, and aligned with business objectives.

What You’ll Do In This Role

• Design, develop, and implement scalable data pipelines and ELT/ETL solutions using Snowflake and modern data engineering frameworks.
• Develop and manage data transformations and orchestration using dbt, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Data Lake (ADL), or comparable tools.
• Integrate Snowflake with enterprise systems and cloud data platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Kafka, REST APIs).
• Collaborate with product owner, architects, and developers to translate business and technical requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Prepare and interpret business, functional, and non-functional requirements and translate them into effective data models and pipelines.
• Establish and enforce data engineering standards, best practices, and governance controls.
• Implement quality assurance of data processing, transformations, and error resolution.
• Monitor pipeline performance, reliability, and cost efficiency; recommend and implement improvements.

What We’re Looking For

Salary Range Information

USD $95,311.00 - USD $158,851.00 /Yr.

We are open to hiring this role at the Systems Analyst 2 or 3 levels based on your skills, experience, and demonstrated competencies. Leveling considers your qualifications, the scope and complexity you’ve owned, and alignment to the role’s scope.

The base salary range for Systems Analyst 2 is $77,019 - $128,365 and the base salary for a systems analyst 3 is $95,311- $158,851. Range includes data points from multiple labor markets. Specific range is dependent on the labor market where the incumbent will be hired to perform the position. Starting salary will be based on job level, candidate qualifications and experience, internal equity and geographical location.
