Job summary

Harvard Medical School is seeking a Senior Director, Data Architecture to lead strategy, design, governance, and delivery of its enterprise data ecosystem. You will supervise eight FTEs and oversee a cloud modernization program spanning data lake, data mart, and data hub, with accountability for standards and investments.

The role emphasizes data governance, MDM, and cross-unit collaboration to ensure data is governed, integrated, and accessible for school-wide decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise data management.
• Demonstrated experience leading at least one full-scale enterprise cloud migration.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Data Architecture function and a team of 8 FTEs.
• Own strategy, standards, and end-to-end design of HMS data ecosystem across Data Lake, Data Mart, Data Hub.
• Direct modernization of the legacy estate to a cloud-native, serverless ETL platform.
• Manage program budget, vendor selections, and investments for data architecture.
