Columbus College of Art and Design seeks an Enterprise Data Analyst to bridge business stakeholders, student support, and IT to protect and promote data assets. You will guide data asset development and enable data-driven decisions across CCAD's academic mission.

You will build reports with Power BI and SSRS, support data governance, and contribute to a campus-wide data warehouse while ensuring accessibility and data quality for diverse users.

  • Create and update technical documentation for data processes and definitions.
  • Support data governance and ensure data quality across stakeholders.
  • Contribute to development of a data warehouse for accessible data.
  • Provide training and guidance to users learning data and reporting.

Enterprise Data Analyst

SUMMARY The Enterprise Data Analyst serves as a liaison between business stakeholders, student support areas, end-users, and IT to protect and promote data assets. This role interacts with all levels of the organization, guides the development of data assets, and ensures the use of data assets to drive the success of CCAD's academic mission. The Enterprise Data Analyst will assist end users achieve desired results by providing guidance, troubleshooting, training and assistance with various systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

included but are not limited to the following:

  • Protect and promote all college data assets, including the Student Information System.
  • Gather and analyze data and business needs, develop, design, test and deliver internal and external reports using Power BI and SQL Server Reporting Services.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and automation.
  • Provide support to the Enterprise Applications team in the development and enhancement of data assets, assuming responsibility for their operation, support, maintenance, and integrations.
  • Create and update technical documentation for data processes, reporting, and definitions of college data.
  • In coordination with the Senior Director of Library & Information Technology, Enterprise Applications team, and application owners, support data governance for the college.
  • Act as a data quality subject matter expert to the Enterprise Applications team and stakeholders.
  • Support all users as they learn data and associated reporting and processes.
  • Contribute to the development of a data warehouse of regularly captured data, ensuring stakeholders can access and utilize the data.
  • Provide shared experiences and expertise that will contribute to CCAD's commitment to diversity and inclusiveness.
  • Contribute to diversity and inclusive excellence by creating technology services and processes that are inclusive, equitable, and accessible.
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Contribute to a small team of analysts in Enterprise Applications, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Maintain a cooperative and professional working relationship with other members of the IT staff and with the CCAD community.
  • In collaboration with other IT staff, implement technology security standards as well as maintain and protect the confidentiality of information and data.
  • May serve on College-wide committees, task forces, working groups etc.
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned.
Tertiary Responsibilities
  • Represent CCAD and Library & Information Technology by attending or presenting at appropriate conferences and events.
  • Participate in the life of the College by attending campus events such as gallery openings, student exhibits and invited speakers.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Advanced proficiency using SQL, SSRS, and Power BI, or similar reporting programs.
  • Advanced proficiency of data analytics, reporting and data integration technologies.
  • Proficiency in business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), data visualizations, data warehousing, and APIs.
  • A passion for helping the organization use data.
  • Experience writing and maintaining technical documentation.
  • Experience with integration platforms or IPaaS desired.
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree desired or equivalent related experience in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or combination of education and experience.
  • At least 3 years of progressive experience with database systems, including integrations, reporting, and querying.
  • Experience on projects to transition systems to the cloud, or implement new systems, or complete major upgrades to systems.

  • The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Work Environment
  • This role is primarily on campus with the opportunity to work remotely one or two days out of the week. The employee may be required to come to campus to carry out specific work-related activities.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
