Our pioneering and inventive spirit has enabled us to be at the forefront of many technological advancements in our nation's history - from the first flight across the Atlantic Ocean, to stealth bombers, to landing on the moon. Our culture thrives on intellectual curiosity, cognitive diversity and bringing your whole self to work - and we have an insatiable drive to do what others think is impossible. Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.

At the heart of Defining Possible is our commitment to missions. In rapidly changing global security environments, Northrop Grumman brings informed insights and secure technological solutions to enable strategic objectives. We're looking for innovators who can help us keep building on our wide portfolio of secure, affordable, integrated, and multi-domain systems and technologies that fuel those missions. By joining in our shared mission, we will support yours by expanding your personal network and developing skills, whether you are new to the field or an industry thought leader. At Northrop Grumman, you will have the resources, support, and team to do some of the best work of your career.

Northrop Grumman's Corporate Sector Chief Information & Digital Office (CIDO) is seeking a Manager Computer Systems Architecture 2 to serve as the Enterprise Business Architecture Lead . The selected candidate will oversee the business architecture lane within the Strategy and Architecture team of the Governance & Strategy organization and guide business architecture activities that connect enterprise strategy, operating model, capabilities, processes, and transformation priorities to architecture direction and investment decisions.

This role is aligned to the target operating model in which the Head of Strategy and Architecture leads a broader Strategy and Architecture portfolio that includes strategy, technical architecture, business architecture, and performance-oriented functions as distinct peer lanes. The Enterprise Business Architecture Lead is responsible for leading the business architecture segment of the CIDO portfolio, translating enterprise priorities into business architecture framing, guiding cross-capability analysis, and ensuring architecture decisions remain anchored in business outcomes rather than local technology optimization.

This role remains a peer lane to the enterprise technical architecture function. The Enterprise Business Architecture Lead is expected to partner closely with the Enterprise Technical Architecture Lead and adjacent peers while reporting to the Head of Strategy and Architecture.

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead the enterprise business architecture organization under the Head of Strategy and Architecture, including direct management and objective-oriented direction of business-capability-aligned architects and assigned staff.
  • Define and manage business architecture methods, expected outputs, operating cadences, and work priorities for the business architecture lane.
  • Translate enterprise strategy and operating-model needs into business architecture direction, business capability framing, and transformation priorities.
  • Partner with technical architecture leaders, strategy stakeholders, and business leaders to improve alignment between enterprise priorities, architecture decisions, and business outcomes.

This position will be available as a virtual telecommuter, however, the incumbent most be within 90 miles of a major Northrop Grumman location for ad hoc onsite meetings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the end to end Enterprise Business Capability Model.
  • Serve as the Enterprise Business Architecture Lead for the business architecture lane within Strategy and Architecture.
  • Lead the business architecture organization reporting to the Head of Strategy and Architecture, including assigning work, setting objectives, and ensuring execution against agreed priorities.
  • Define and maintain business architecture methods, expected outputs, business capability framing approaches, and process-context expectations for the business architecture practice.
  • Translate enterprise strategy, operating-model needs, and business priorities into architecture framing, capability roadmaps, and target-state decision support.
  • Guide business capability decomposition, process architecture analysis, cross-capability dependency mapping, and business-impact framing for major architecture and modernization decisions.
  • Lead and mentor business-capability-aligned architects, including
