Job summary

Florida Blue is seeking an Enterprise Business Architect to develop and apply business architecture models across domains such as Claims, Enrollment, Provider Relations, or Clinical Management. Responsibilities

  • Connects business strategy to operational capabilities by analyzing objectives and identifying required capabilities to guide investments.
  • Develops and maintains comprehensive capability models reflecting current and future states.
  • Develops architecture roadmaps guiding evolution of capabilities and technology solutions.
  • Produces architecture deliverables: models, maps, roadmaps, business cases to inform decisions and investments.
  • Partners with VPs and directors to align capabilities with strategic objectives and investments.
  • Supports investment prioritization by analyzing capabilities and developing recommendations.
  • Provides input to build/buy/partner decisions aligning capabilities with priorities.
  • Conducts capability impact assessments to identify risks/opportunities and mitigation approaches.
  • Facilitates cross-functional workshops to align stakeholders on business capabilities.
  • Collaborates with IT architects and delivery teams to integrate capabilities into solutions.

Job Description

The Enterprise Business Architect is a senior practitioner responsible for developing, maintaining, and applying business architecture models within one or more assigned business domains such as Claims, Member Enrollment, Provider Relations, or Clinical Management. This role bridges the gap between strategic intent and operational execution by producing capability models, process maps, and architecture deliverables that guide investment decisions, program delivery, and organizational design. The Enterprise Business Architect collaborates closely with business unit leaders, IT architects, and delivery teams to ensure that solutions are designed in alignment with the enterprise architecture baseline and that domain-level changes are evaluated for cross-functional impact. Operating within the highly regulated health insurance industry, this role requires a strong combination of analytical rigor, stakeholder facilitation skills, and working knowledge of health plan operations and compliance requirements.



What You Will Be Doing

  • Connects business strategy to operational capabilities by analyzing strategic objectives and identifying the capabilities required to achieve them, thereby informing investment decisions and resource allocation.

  • Develops and maintains comprehensive capability models for assigned business capability areas, ensuring they accurately reflect current and future states and align with enterprise strategy.

  • Develops architecture roadmaps to guide the evolution of business capabilities and technology solutions, ensuring the organization is well‑positioned to achieve its strategic objectives.

  • Produces high-quality architecture deliverables for assigned capability areas, including capability models, process maps, architecture roadmaps, and business cases to inform decision‑making and guide investment.

  • Partners with business unit VPs and directors to ensure business capabilities are aligned with strategic objectives and that investment decisions are informed by a deep understanding of business requirements.

  • Supports investment prioritization across business capabilities by analyzing capabilities, identifying areas for improvement, and developing strategic recommendations to ensure resources are allocated effectively to drive business outcomes.

  • Provides critical input to support build/buy/partner decisions, ensuring the organization’s capabilities are aligned with strategic priorities and that investments are optimized.

  • Conducts business capability impact assessments to analyze the potential impact of changes, identify risks and opportunities, and develop strategies to mitigate or capitalize on them.

  • Facilitates cross‑functional workshops to align stakeholders from across the organization on business capabilities, ensuring shared understanding across capability areas and business units.

  • Collaborates with IT architects and delivery teams to ensure business capabilities are integrated into technology solutions and that architecture plans are informed by business requirements.

  • Supports enterprise architecture initiatives by providing business capability‑level expertise and insights, ensuring architecture plans and strategies reflect a deep understanding of operational requirements.

  • Maintains accurate and up‑to‑date business architecture repository content, ensuring stakeholders have access to reliable and timely information to support decision‑making.



What We Require


  • 7+ years related work experience in business or enterprise architecture roles including working on multi‑year, large scale projects or equivalent combination of transferrable experience and education

  • 5+ years developing and leading architecture deliverables - Functional expertise in at least one major business area

  • Related Bachelor’s degree or additional related equivalent work experience

  • Business Administration

  • Thorough industry knowledge in related business area and understanding of impact on the organization

  • Demonstrated experience in business architecture

  • Strong concept visualization, presentation communication skills while interacting with a broad spectrum of internal and external individuals and departments

  • Ability to challenge status quo and engage in conversations leading to innovation

  • High critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategy

  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work well with business area and IT partners

  • Experience in applying research methodology to business solutions

  • Experience with business requirements and business process analysis to ensure IT solutions meet the business needs

  • Exceptional leadership skills demonstrated through project or technical leadership experience including effective knowledge sharing, conflict resolution, facilitation of open discussions and displaying appropriate levels of assertiveness

  • Ability to clearly communicate to all levels and audiences

  • Expertise in consulting, negotiating, communicating, consensus building, presentation and facilitation skills

  • Ability to communicate highly complex technical functional‑level information into a simple presentment that is conveyed clearly and articulately for all levels and audiences



What We Prefer


  • Ability to design and implement enterprise‑wide process excellence programs and continuous improvement frameworks, with proven ability to align process optimization initiatives with business strategy, manage process transformation across multiple business units, and establish process performance metrics and governance.

  • Track record of developing enterprise‑wide AI adoption strategies and governance models, with proven ability to align AI initiatives with business objectives, manage cross‑functional AI enablement programs, and guide stakeholders through AI transformation at scale.

  • A solid understanding of the healthcare industry and the laws and regulations that govern and/or impact our business

  • Business Architecture related certifications

  • Lean competency certification



General Physical Demands

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally. Must be able to travel occasionally to multiple locations for work (i.e. travel to attend meetings, events, conferences).

Typical Annualized Offer/Hiring Range: $119,400 - $149,200


Annualized Salary Range: $119,400 - $194,000


Final pay will be determined with consideration of market competitiveness, internal equity, and the job‑related knowledge, skills, training, and experience you bring.
