Job summary

Actalent is seeking an experienced Senior Software Architect/Enterprise Architect to lead modernization and data-centric transformation across the organization. You will define governance, standards, and a framework for software engineering, procurement, and lifecycle management.

This role requires strong leadership and a track record evaluating large ecosystems. The position is based on-site in Huntsville, AL, with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school in a technical discipline (IT, software/CS, cybersecurity, or engineering).
• 10+ years of professional experience.
• Extensive experience as an Enterprise Architect or in a senior technical leadership role.
• Experience designing software lifecycle management policies, enterprise architecture standards, and IT governance frameworks.
• Deep knowledge of cloud computing architectures, API integration, and secure DevSecOps practices.
• Strong analytical skills with experience developing scoring models and assessment methodologies.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present complex assessments to executives.
• U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance able to obtain/maintain.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the technology landscape and deliver data-backed recommendations on modernization.
• Establish technical standards and architectures covering cloud, API integrations, and DevSecOps.
• Design frameworks to identify, assess, and mitigate technical debt and define data rights ownership.
• Develop inventories and scoring models to reduce bloat and redirect resources to high-value capabilities.
• Track software consumption metrics to provide granular financial oversight and ROI.
• Define transition plans to mature pilots into enduring enterprise programs.
