Job summary

Barrow Wise Consulting, LLC is seeking a Senior Enterprise Architect to support government projects from Maryland. You will lead research and adoption of new technologies, and shape the IT landscape with cloud, data, and security initiatives.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years as an IT Architect, strong enterprise modeling (UML), and certifications (PMP, CMMI). Expect collaboration with OIT and contributions to strategic IT plans.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship and Maryland residence required.
• Bachelor's degree in IT or related field.
• Minimum five years as an Information Technology Architect.
• Senior-level knowledge in enterprise modeling (e.g., UML).
• Experience designing and implementing complex IT solutions in transportation.
• PMP certification.
• CMMI Practitioner certification.
• 3-5 years with MS Power Platform, Azure, Synapse, Data Factory, Data Lakes, Databricks, ESRI, cloud computing.

Responsibilities

• Identify and research new technologies (cloud PaaS, SaaS, IaaS, AI, BI, data analytics).
• Develop and expand platforms and applications (Oracle/SQL, Salesforce, Azure, ESRI, .NET, Power Platform).
• Provide technology briefings to OIT management and recommendations.
• Develop short-/long-term implementation plans; assist bid/RFI/RFP processes.
• Support OIT cybersecurity responsibilities.
• Advise on disaster recovery planning and execution.
• Advise on data classification and security research.
• Represent SHA on MDOT Data Governance Council and IT requests.
• Author/review documents on architecture, target architecture, system design, and master IT plan.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Enterprise Architect will support Barrow Wise's government project and perform the following duties:

• Identify and research new technologies, including cloud PaaS, SaaS, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) technologies, AI, Business Intelligence, data science and analytics, and other COTS products.
• Develop and expand the use of existing platforms and applications, including Oracle and SQL databases, Salesforce, Azure, ESRI, .NET, PowerBuilder, AASTOware, Sharepoint, and the Microsoft Power Platform.
• Provide technology briefings on emerging technology and recommendations to OIT management
• Develop detailed short-term and long-term plans for implementation; provide input to the budget process, guidance to staff developing bid, RFIs, RFPs, and requirements.
• Support OIT's cybersecurity responsibilities.
• Advise and participate in Disaster Recovery Planning and Execution.
• Advise on and conduct data classification of applications and conducting security-related research.
• Represent SHA on the MDOT Data Governance Council. and participate in meetings to adopt or reject IT requests.
• Author, contribute to, or review documents pertaining to future architecture, target architecture, system design, and annual IT master plan.

An ideal candidate has the following:

• U.S. Citizenship, Reside in Maryland
• Minimum: Bachelor's degree in IT or another related field
• Five (5) years' experience as an Information Technology Architect.
• Senior-level knowledge or experience in enterprise-level modeling and tools (ex.UML).
• Demonstrated progression in responsibilities and roles, with experience in designing and implementing complex IT solutions within the Transportation Industry.
• PMP certification
• CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) Practitioner certification
• 3-5 years' experience with MS Power Platform, Azure. Synapse, Data Factory, Data Lakes, Data Bricks, Dataverse, ESRI, Cloud computing, etc.
• Track record of being highly organized and self-motivated
