Job description

About Us:

Spreedly is the world's leading Open Payments Platform. Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Durham, NC, the company gives mid-market and enterprise businesses the infrastructure to connect to any payment gateway, processor, or fraud tool through a single API. The platform is vendor-agnostic by design, meaning customers are never locked into a single provider and never need to rebuild their payments stack to access new capabilities.

The core business problem Spreedly solves is real and costly: global merchants face a fragmented payments ecosystem, where every new market, payment method, or fraud tool typically requires a separate, time-consuming integration. Spreedly eliminates that complexity, enabling companies to route transactions intelligently, secure cardholder data, prevent fraud, and expand into new markets without heavy engineering overhead.

About the Role:

As an Enterprise Account Manager at Spreedly, you’ll act as a strategic advisor and growth partner to a defined portfolio of high-value customers. You’ll own retention and expansion across complex accounts and build multi-threaded relationships that uncover value and strengthen customer commitment. This role requires curiosity and commercial discipline, blending relationship development with commercial execution. It requires the ability to manage both transactional details and strategic outcomes.

You will succeed by proactively aligning stakeholders, identifying opportunities for value improvement or acceleration, and guiding customers through Spreedly’s evolving platform. Your role will contribute to Spreedly’s growth by driving insights at the account level, expanding relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring that customers fully realize the benefits of our payments orchestration platform. Achieving success requires a thoughtful and consultative approach, along with the ability to support alignment across different functions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex environments, enjoys solving customer challenges, and is energized by a culture of continuous learning and growth.

This is a US-based customer-facing role supporting primarily US customers and cross-functional teams operating within US business hours. Success in this role requires regular travel within the United States and the ability to work in alignment with US customer and internal stakeholder schedules.

Responsibilities:
  • Own a book of high-value customer accounts (~$3M+ in ARR)
  • Lead account planning and deliver quarterly business reviews with clear success metrics
  • Build strategic multi-threaded relationships across customer organizations
  • Conduct strategic account planning and maintain a proactive customer engagement cadence
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to unblock value and influence internal roadmap decisions
  • Accurately forecast retention, expansion, and potential risk within your portfolio
  • Analyze product usage and customer data to identify growth opportunities and risks
  • Drive execution on renewal and upsell strategies, including contract structuring
  • Provide market and customer insights to inform GTM evolution and segmentation strategy
  • Contribute to customer stories, reference programs, and pricing feedback loops
  • Leverage AI tools to enhance account planning, data analysis, and customer insights
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in Account Management, Customer Success, or B2B SaaS Sales, with quota-carrying or expansion responsibilities
  • Background in payments, fintech, or infrastructure SaaS
  • Experience with consumption-based or API-first SaaS models
  • Proven track record managing $3M+ ARR with high retention and growth outcomes
  • Excellent communication, value-based selling, and stakeholder management skills
  • Operational discipline with systems like Salesforce, Clari, and account planning tools
  • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities while influencing cross-functional outcomes
  • Willingness to travel
Additional Skills We Value
  • Operational comfort in hybrid customer models (e.g., self-serve, mid-market, enterprise)
  • Experience in startup-to-growth SaaS stages, including operational scaling
  • Demonstrated success during high-growth scaling periods ($20M-$100M ARR)
  • Experience navigating evolving product offerings and pricing models
We Offer US-based Employees:
  • Competitive salary + Equity
  • Outstanding Medical and Dental benefits, including 100% employer-paid options
  • Company-paid Life and Disability insurance
  • Optional vision and supplemental insurance options, and various Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
  • Open Paid Time Off policy + 12 weeks of paid leave for new parents
  • Matching 401(k) plan (5% up to $5,000 yearly)
  • $1,000 annual professional development stipend
  • Monthly home working/digital lifestyle stipend, new MacBook, and one-time accessory reimbursement
  • Access to company-paid professional coaching service
  • Visits to HQ in Durham, North Carolina for remote employees

Spreedly Product Offering:

Spreedly provides an open payments platform. The platform’s connectivity provides payments performance. Key products and services include:

Connect - A unified API that integrates with hundreds of payment gateways, processors, and alternative payment methods worldwide, including digital wallets. Merchants access the global payments ecosystem through one connection.
Vault - A PCI-compliant secure repository for payment methods. Merchants store card data once and reuse it across any payment service, reducing PCI scope and protecting cardholder data at scale.
Optimize - Workflow-driven routing and retry logic that directs each transaction to the best-performing gateway in real time. On average, 7.9% of failed transactions succeed immediately when retried on a secondary gateway. This is where merchants recover lost revenue and increase authorization success rates.
Protect - A flexible fraud and authentication layer, incorporating advanced fraud tools and 3DS. Following Spreedly's acquisition of Dodgeball in September 2025, fraud orchestration and payment optimization now operate within the same platform.
Resolve - Centralized management and reporting that reduces operational silos, strengthens security, and improves billing control across a merchant's entire payment operation.
More Coming Soon! - Keep your eyes peeled for a new product launch by EOY '26

Spreedly is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. We actively work to drive out even unintentional discrimination in our hiring processes via practices like blindly graded work samples, structured interviews, and diversity awareness training.

Due to the sensitive nature of what Spreedly does - handling payment data - finalist candidates must complete a successful background and reference check.

At this time Spreedly is unable to provide sponsorship for employment, and we are not set up to support remote employees who reside in New York. In order to be considered for employment, applicants must be currently legally authorized to work in the job location country and not require future sponsorship in order to continue working in that country.

We appreciate your interest in our company. Because of the high volume of resume flow, we may only respond to those candidates that we think will be a potential fit.
