The Role

The Enrollment & Student Engagement Coordinator is a field based, outcomes oriented role responsible for generating prospective Graduate Candidates, moving prospects through the enrollment pipeline, and contributing directly to assigned enrollment growth targets. You will spend significant time in the community conducting proactive recruitment, including neighborhood canvassing, door to door outreach, visits to apartment communities, direct family outreach, in person lead follow up, and community relationship building.

When Graduate Candidates experience attendance or truancy concerns, you are also responsible for proactive re‑engagement, including outreach to students and families, home visits when appropriate, identifying barriers to attendance, documenting interventions, and partnering with Academy leadership to help students return to consistent engagement. When on campus, you build rapport with Graduate Candidates, contribute to a positive Academy culture, and provide targeted support to students and staff.

Enrollment growth and student re‑engagement are the primary outcomes of this position. Community outreach, relationship building, and on campus support are the strategies used to achieve those outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Enrollment Growth and Field Based Recruitment

• Own assigned enrollment growth targets and execute a consistent field based recruitment strategy that generates qualified prospective Graduate Candidates and converts prospects into enrolled students.


• Conduct proactive outreach and canvassing in the neighborhoods and communities surrounding the Academy, including door to door and neighborhood canvassing.


• Visit apartment communities, community centers, youth serving organizations, local businesses, public spaces, and other locations where prospective Graduate Candidates and families may be reached.


• Conduct direct outreach to prospective students and families through in person visits, phone calls, text and email outreach, events, referrals, and other approved channels.


• Maintain an active pipeline from initial contact through application, enrollment, and start, following up consistently and promptly, including in person when appropriate.


• Track outreach activity, leads generated, applications, enrollments, conversion rates, and other established pipeline metrics.


• Know your assigned enrollment and pipeline numbers and be able to explain which outreach activities are producing prospects and enrollments.


• Collaborate with Academy leadership and enrollment staff to remove barriers in the enrollment process and improve conversion.


• Participate in community events and cultivate partnerships when those activities support prospective student generation, referrals, and enrollment growth.


• Represent the Academy professionally and authentically in all community interactions.

Attendance, Truancy, and Student Re-Engagement

• Take proactive responsibility for attendance and truancy intervention for assigned Graduate Candidates experiencing chronic absenteeism, disengagement, or difficulty being reached.


• Regularly review attendance and truancy lists and prioritize students requiring immediate outreach.


• Contact Graduate Candidates and families by phone, text, email, and in person to understand attendance concerns and support re‑engagement.


• Conduct home visits when appropriate and consistent with Academy policies and safety protocols.


• Identify barriers contributing to attendance issues and communicate relevant information to Academy leadership and staff.


• Develop and execute follow up plans designed to re‑engage students and support their return to consistent attendance.


• Document all interventions, outreach attempts, home visits, barriers identified, and re‑engagement outcomes accurately and promptly.


• Monitor assigned students after re‑engagement and follow up as needed to support sustained attendance.

Student Support and Community Resource Connection

• Identify and connect students to community resources and services, including support for Graduate Candidates experiencing homelessness, housing instability, emotional distress, food insecurity, and other urgent needs.


• Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, agencies, and partners that expand the support available to our students.


• Serve as an advocate for students by identifying solutions and connecting them to the right people inside and outside the Academy.


• Coordinate with Academy leadership when a student need requires broader action or additional support.

Student Engagement and Academy Culture

• Build genuine, trusting relationships with Graduate Candidates and contribute to a school environment in which students feel known, respected, welcomed, and valued.


• Serve as a positive and consistent adult presence on campus.


• Develop strong rapport with students across a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and educational needs.


• Help new Graduate Candidates feel connected to the Academy and supported as they transition into the school community.


• Build strong working relationships with teachers and Academy staff, and provide targeted support to strengthen student engagement and the learning environment.


• Support Academy wide events and activities that strengthen student connection and culture.


• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall mission of the Academy.

Performance Expectations

Success in this position is measured regularly against established enrollment, outreach, pipeline, attendance, and re‑engagement goals. Specific targets may vary based on Academy needs and enrollment cycles. Expectations include:

• Achievement of assigned enrollment growth targets.


• Consistent generation of qualified new prospective Graduate Candidates.


• Consistent completion of expected outreach activity, including neighborhood canvassing, direct family outreach, and home visits when appropriate.


• Active management and growth of an assigned enrollment pipeline, with measurable lead to enrollment conversion.


• Consistent, timely, and documented follow up with prospective Graduate Candidates and families.


• Completion and documentation of attendance and truancy interventions, and successful re‑engagement of disengaged students.


• Accurate and timely management of enrollment, outreach, and attendance data.


• Ability to explain outreach activity, pipeline health, conversion, enrollment results, and re‑engagement outcomes on request.

What We’re Looking For

Education: Associate degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience: 1 to 3 years in enrollment, recruitment, admissions, community outreach, family engagement, community organizing, sales, business development, case management, or educational support. Experience working with high school students, young adults, and families, particularly students who have faced barriers to traditional education, is strongly preferred.
Skills: Strong relationship building and excellent communication across differences in race, gender, orientation, need, mindset, and working style. The ability to motivate others and inspire confidence. Strong organization and executive function. Comfort taking charge and making decisions with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment. Sound judgment in conflict resolution.
Field Readiness: Genuine comfort conducting proactive field based outreach, including door to door and neighborhood canvassing, apartment community outreach, cold conversations with people you have not met, and in person follow up. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for community outreach and home visits.
Drive and Accountability: High initiative, persistence, and personal accountability, with the ability to work independently in the community while maintaining strong communication with Academy leadership. Comfort working toward measurable goals and taking action when results are off track.

Preferred Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain an Ohio substitute teaching license, which opens additional growth opportunities within the role.


• Familiarity with myINCITE, Slack, or similar platforms.


• Experience in non traditional educational settings.


• Comfort with project based and competency based learning approaches.
